
Candice L. Cook advises businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals on employment law, workplace investigations, business law, and corporate governance matters. She brings more than fifteen years of legal and executive leadership experience, including senior positions with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Defense, where she advised leadership on employment law, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), workplace investigations, and organizational risk management.
Prior to entering private practice, Candice served as Chief Diversity Officer for the U.S. Department of Justice. In that role, and in previous leadership positions within the Department of Justice and the Department of Defense, she advised senior executives on complex employment and workforce matters, briefed the Attorney General of the United States, collaborated with the White House Domestic Policy Council and other federal agencies on workforce policy initiatives, developed agency-wide workplace policies, and provided legal and strategic guidance on matters involving Title VII, reasonable accommodations, workplace investigations, anti-harassment, retaliation, and other federal employment laws.
Candice now represents employers, nonprofit organizations, and individuals on a broad range of employment and business matters. She counsels clients on workplace policies, employee relations, employment agreements, internal investigations, and risk management. She also conducts independent workplace investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and other workplace misconduct.
